Homo Sapiens, as a species, is not exempt from Darwinism.

Those who are mentally and physically unfit will not survive this crisis.

Intellectually we see it as a tragedy.

As a species of the animal kingdom, it's a necessity.

Shame on any American who can't deal with a few months in their own homes.

John McCain died a couple of years ago, so your use of tense is a bit confusing.

Suggesting however that we shame the mentally ill because they are reacting as such? Alrighty then.

If one happens to be a HOMELESS, how does he/she submit to the mandated home incarceration?

You're right; my tense was wrong.

However, I do not agree that everyone who is refusing to comply with the stay requirements is mentally ill. Or homeless. Not by a long shot.

I disagree. I strongly question the mental health of the people protesting shoulder to shoulder and toe to heel. Without masks. Their nuts IMO.

Has the cure become more costly than the disease?

Over 1mil sick and about 70K dead...the only reason there isn't more is because of the measures most states have taken to minimize exposure.

It's interesting to me that I posted a link to an article about a 5 year old little girl that passed away from COVID and your response was:

"Sadly, thousands of babies are slaughtered BEFORE any of them takes a first breath."

So...That some people are choosing to commit suicide is more upsetting to you than children dying of this virus. smh.

The THOUSANDS of babies being slaughtered were destroyed by abortion.

I can think of no crueler fate than a child's MOTHER choosing to surgically destroy said child.

In 2019 42,000,000 babies were slaughtered in the USA alone!

The 42,000,000 innocent babies were resected from the safety of their mother's womb.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with what I posted. But by posting that you pretty much said "Who cares...kids die every day because of abortion".
And if you care about lives...all lives ...you shouldn't be supporting these idiotic and unsafe protests. Living, born people of all ages are dying of this virus. Sooner or later we will run out of Doctors and Nurses because they have taken sick and died due to some people refusing to use commonsense.

you shouldn't be supporting these idiotic and unsafe protests.

I don't support any particular protest.

I support anyone who wishes to exercise the RIGHT to peacefully assemble and protest.

Your response did remind me that the 50th anniversary of the Kent State University massacre occurred 50 years ago TODAY.

I disagreed with the substance of their protest, but supported 100% their right to protest.

0.0035% of the US population has been infected according to CDC numbers. Of those, 0.0585% have died.
Sure, anyone coud get sick, but those are not numbers to fear.
People can decide for themselves if they want to wear PPE and venture outside and away from home.

According to the National Safety Council, approximately 38,800 people in the US lost their lives in car crashes in 2019.

Covid19 has almost doubled that death toll in the US in the first 4 months of 2020 (69,709 deaths YTD) and you don't fear those figures?

I guess you didn't read the article you posted the link to, the first line says of it that the 42.4M abortions is a WORLDWIDE figure.

I respect your right to believe as you do, and hope you would do the same for me. However, when people bring either outright falsehoods or even just simple misunderstandings into a discussion and present them as facts, I feel like I must point it out. Not for the sake of argument, but for the sake of clarity.

0.0035% of the US population has been infected according to CDC numbers. Of those, 0.0585% have died.

Mightymoose, your math is off. Like way off. First, look at your own numbers, you have far fewer of the population being infected than have died from it. But obviously everyone who has died from it was infected with it.

Second, the CDC covid-19 cases in the U.S. page currently shows that 1,152,372 have been infected with the virus and that 67,456 have so far died. The current U.S. population is estimated by the Census Bureau at 328 million (the 2020 census will give us a better figure when its complete). So that means the percentage of the population infected so far is 1,152,372/328 million=.0035, or .35%, and the number dead as a percentage is 67,456/328 million = .0002, or .02%.

Two things to note. Most experts say that the numbers given above are almost certainly way too low, especially for the number of infected persons, as we have tested only a very small fraction of the population and a number of people who get covid-19 do not have symptoms or have mild symptoms and thus never seek medical help and even among those that do seek help some cases are misdiagnosed as something else.

Second, those numbers are as low as they are because states that started to see spikes in cases took action early enough to keep the infection from spreading wildly. Without that, they'd be a lot higher.

You are determined to minimized the risk because you chafe at the idea of the restrictions being put in place and want to believe that there is no justification for it. It's apparent that I can't convince you otherwise, but you are willfully ignoring what the medical experts have been saying about the risks of this disease if we let it spread unchecked.

In 2019 42,000,000 babies were slaughtered in the USA alone!

You didn't think about that figure before you posted it. For that to be true there would have to have been 42 million pregnant women in the U.S. who had abortions in 2019. The total U.S. population is estimated in 2018 to have been 327 million, and a bit more than half those were women, 166 million. When we take into account just the females of child bearing age, which would be about ages 12-50, we see that there were 74.65 million women aged 15-49 in the U.S. in 2018. Those figures would be only slightly higher for 2019. My figures come from the census bureau age and sex data.

Thus if your figures were accurate that would mean that 42 million/74.65 million = 56% of all women of child bearing age were not only pregnant in 2019 but also had abortions that year. Did you see half the women of those ages walking around pregnant in 2019? I didn't think so. ;)

I don't like abortion either and would like to see the number of abortions in this country significantly reduced. But when making the argument let's at least use accurate data.
