Roomate Verbal rental roommate agreement

Verbal agreement - room rental - rent fee is for room/board - utilities included.

Lease with leasing agent is not in my name. Roommate has moved out (has few items still here). Utilities in roommates name. Roommate is not paying utilities even though I am still here for a while.

What legal recourse do I have if utilities are shut off and I have to move out suddenly (finding a daily room, uhaul/storage fees would nees to be borrowed).

None, zero, zip, nada.

Get the utilities put in your name. Talk to the leasing agent about getting the lease in your name.

I have exhausted all my funds on searching (gas) and paying application fees. I'm on SSDI and won't recd $ til next week. The utilities will require deposits which I do not have and my rental agreement was to pay a reduced amount thus I would not be able to afford the rent. Plus the roommate never has said who the property mgmt is.

That is amazing.

How on earth were you clever enough to determine that?

You are amazing.

I salute your knowledge.

Your county assessor will have a record of the property owner's name and address.

You can search by property address:

Thx for the site. I actually found the who the property mgmt company is and have the info saved. Ive also made a couple of videos outlining the situation (if needed for future).

So far utilities are still on and am assuming (hoping) the property mgmt has already switched them over.

I'm moving in less than a week so will be glad to get out if here.

Thx again!
