FORT HOOD, Texas (KWTX) Fort Hood's 1st Cavalry Division Horse Detachment is looking for a new home for a mule named Tina, which was foaled in 1999 and has served as a four-legged member of the detachment since 2006.

"She was a fully operational draft mule until 2018 and has participated in countless cavalry charges, mounted weapons demonstrations, civic parades, and color guards," the post said.

She was paired only with her sister Dolly, but Dolly died last year of bone cancer.

"She has adjusted to the loss just fine and will be suitable for light work alone," but "pairing with another mule should be approached with caution and a very experienced hand."

Tina is healthy, has no special dietary needs and is now fed free choice coastal Bermuda hay with lots of pasture grass, the post said.

Anyone interested in adopting the mule should send a written request and any questions to
.... 1CDHorseCavalryDetachment@gmail.com ..... within the next 15 days.

The detachment will provide an application packet and full instructions.
