Mental Health #11 - A New Beginning

Hi Guys.............. haven't posted in a long time but always lurking and learning! I have a question regarding employees pay and hoping you can help. We have two hotels within walking distance of each other but with two different EIN #'s. Sometimes the employees work both hotels. My question is if an employee works at say "Hotel A" for 40 hours, and then works at "Hotel B" for 5 five hours , would the 5 hours be paid at time and a half even though "Hotel B" has a different EIN #?

Side note- Currently if an employee is assigned and works at "A" and then works at "B" but not creating overtime hours the compensation is paid through the hotel that the person is assigned and then accounting takes care of reimbursing the assigned hotel with funds from the other hotel. Also both hotels are owned by the same individual.

Cathy I think I posted this question a few years ago on the other site and you answered but can't remember your answer, heck I can't even remember what I ate for dinner last night!

I've done nothing but Benefits for the last ten years but I've I'm not mistaken yes, you'd need to pay at time and a half.

So how you doing, anyway?

^^^^Which is NOT what you told me about yourself on the other site. And you wonder why I'm second guessing myself?

This is not a referral service. Please take your self-described worthless self elsewhere now.

Locking now.
Someone can unlock later.

Unlocking, now that the nut is gone.

However, this one did get to be nine pages. We might want to consider opening #12

I'm doing ok, still at the two hotels. I spend just about all my time trying to recruit workers, this has been the worst year yet I can't find anyone! I pop in here a few days a week to catch up on postings and see some familiar names and some not so much. How have you been?

This year's better than last year by a long stretch. I lost my dad in October and only three weeks later my "second mother" also passed. You remember Maven on the old board? It was her mother. But this year things are looking up. Work is good. I'm still at the University -almost eight years now, if you can believe it!

The lawyers seemed very confident, they are starting with 7 figures. There is plenty of evidence.
The employer has been mistreating employees in similar fashion for years and getting away with it. For the sake of their employees in the future I hope they are severely punished.

So apparently the judge had a phone conversation with the employer and/or their attorney and told them that they do NOT want to end up in his courtroom. So my brother received notice that they are not going to court. I don't know the exact wording but anyhow it sounded like they are planning to settle out of court. Hopefully soon.

FMLA sucks. In case ya'll weren't aware.

I've had many conversations about FMLA over the years.

The problem with FMLA, and many other allegedly well intentioned programs, they are sold as something they aren't.

Add to that milieu of mistaken ideas, the mass of humanity constantly seeking something for nothing, and the confusion ignites the explosive device, BOOM BOOM BOOM.

This began when humanity abandoned self reliance for government hand outs.

God bless those brave, intrepid souls who created this nation; damn the ones who are destroying it.

I thought I would share this heartwarming story of how someone miraculously rose from their near-death bed as soon as their FMLA 12 weeks were up. Amazing!

Good news has a tendency to perk people up.

Miracles do happen.

We have our confirmation that we will have 0 increase in our medical premiums for Nov 1 with no changes to coverage. Agent didn't think we would get it, but I pushed her to ask for it. I got goose bumps when she let me know. We had a nightmare of open enrollment last year with a lot of last minute stuff to deal with so this is a huge relief.
