Hello. I have a ex that keeps harassing me by email. He tells me to drop dead and that he will spread rumors around my town about me. Also saying going to ruin me financially....sue me for cash he gave me during relationship and also gifts. The emails are too much and I told him to quit or I'd get a restraining order against him he said I can't because he has to bother me and he's not. So several emails and phone calls a day aren't bothering a person? Then he tells me if I call him he might not go after me. Head games is what he is playing. Wondering what I can do about this legally. I'm scared of what he might do.

Doesn't really matter, but is this an ex-husband? Ex-boyfriend? Ex-business partner? Something else?

Wondering what I can do about this legally.

The most obvious things to do would be to block the calls and e-mails and/or change your e-mail address and phone number.

It is your choice to read the emails. You can easily block them and never even see them.

He is wrong about the restraining order. What you are describing is often sufficient to obtain one. If you get one then report every single violation. It won't take long for him to stop.

Block his emails. Block his phone number. Block him on social media. That solves that part of the problem. If he wants to sue you, let him try to take you to court. He likely is just blowing smoke up your ass.

He's just an abusive prick. If you ignore him he will go away eventually. If you block him and he shows up at your home or work, call the police. File a protection order.

But the easiest thing to do right now is just block him on every electronic capability he can access you on.

The easiest, sure fire solution is to change your email address.

Another easy solution is to simply block the creep.

I get dozens of naughty, threatening, spam-like emails everyday.

Once I block them, the email app sends them to the spam folder, problem solved.
