CAMERON, Texas (KWTX) A Central Texas man who was found passed out at the wheel of a car from which deputies recovered $830,000 will turn most of the cash over to county officials after agreeing to a plea deal.

Rock Eanes pleaded guilty Wednesday in Cameron to a class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated charge and was sentenced to one day in jail under the terms of the plea deal, in which he also agreed to forfeit $540,515.95 of the cash recovered from his car.

He'll keep the remaining $291,047.05.

Deputies arrested Eanes and seized the cash along with bags filled with gambling equipment after checking a report early on March 26 that a car was stopped in the middle of FM 1712 north of Rockdale.

Eanes was originally charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a firearm.

He is an FUC - as in Fine Upstanding Citizen.

I had a prosecutor tell me one time, "Ain't they all?"

On another note, had the guy been found passed out and lived long enough to be found by some shady characters and not law enforcement officers, I'll bet the $830K wouldn't have been in the car, or the firearm.

The drunk may have been forced to assume room temperature.
