Dealership Caused My License To Be Suspended

I received a letter from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) stating that my insurance company had denied my coverage and as a result suspended my license. The issue is I had insurance the entire time with State Farm. After some digging I found out from the DHSMV that the information submitted by the car dealership when registering my car was for Geico, instead of State Farm. Not sure how you screw that up when I provided them with the insurance card at the purchase. The dealership is denying any wrong doing, this is something I want removed from my record as I did nothing wrong. Is there any legal recourse I can take?

Take all the proof to the local DMV and show them. They should remove everything. If you can prove you had coverage during the time in question. Mistakes happen but it's a easy fix with proof.

It seems you should be able to prove to DMV the vehicle was covered by State Farm the entire time.
Presto!
Problem solved, suspension lifted.

Legal action against the dealer? No. Mistakes happen. They were no more aware of the problem than you were.
