Guardian Ad Litem Report on Closed Case Eliminates Visitation

A little over a month ago, the guardian ad litem in my divorce case (which was finalized 7 months before the report was made) emailed a report to the judge, stating numerous lies and half truths, while omitting numerous key points, but the main point she makes is she no longer trusts my fiance (who had been supervising visitation since divorce was made final) to supervise. The guardian has no basis for this claim (he has no drug history, no criminal history, no mental issues). This has all but eliminated my visitation with my son.
I filed an objection with the court, but the judge has ignored it. What is my next resort? (There were no paper filings in the court, and no one saw the report before it was made).

What is my next resort?

Your next attempt should have been your first attempt, HIRE yourself a good family relations, domestic relations, or divorce law attorney.

This has all but eliminated my visitation with my son.

How so? A GAL's report is not a court order. Did the court reopen your case and modify the existing custody/visitation order?

I filed an objection with the court, but the judge has ignored it.

How do you know "the judge . . . ignored it"? Does this simply mean that the court ruled against you? How do you know the court didn't read and carefully consider your objection but rule against you notwithstanding your objection?

What is my next resort?

You haven't clearly explained the current status, but your "next resort" may be to appeal. I strongly suggest you retain the services of a local family law attorney.

I think this post is omitting numerous key points

You have supervised visitation with your child so it's possible that any final custody decisions were awaiting the report of the GAL and now that the report has been received thats warranted a change in circumstances.

Is DCFS (or CPS/CFS or whomever) involved in your case ? Are you involved in an ongoing investigation ?

There is no information thats been provided that could give anyone a clue as to what happened. However now that the GALs report has been submitted have you seen it and read through it ? This post indicates you have although i wonder...there may be lies, half truths and missing information there should also be information that says why the fiance isn't considered appropriate supervision anymore. Likewise was any alternative for supervision discussed ?

If you do not have an attorney it is my experience that you have very little to go on, I suggest talking to some family law attorneys. If you have legal questions most courthouses offer free legal services/advice although the days and times those are available vary by courthouse. Call them (your local courthouse) and ask if there's a legal aid clinic, you can take all your paperwork at have someone look over it and offer advice, which will be far better advice than you can get here on a message board
