I work in healthcare and know a person with:

1. 18 counts of theft, running a prostitution ring, being a prostitute, and buying and selling drugs.

2. This person is an active drug addict.

3. They continue to sell drugs.

4. They are part of a huge criminal collection of people in the Kensington area of Philly, PA. If you know Philly, you know what I mean.

5. They have a fake mental health diagnosis to receive SSI, which means free income, housing, money, healthcare, and so on.

This woman used a false name "Dawn Brooks" for all of her convictions. Thus, she has NO CRIMINAL HISTORY under her real name.

This is a concern because she is now enrolled in a local community college attempting to obtain a degree in healthcare. That would either be: psychology or nursing.

As a professional myself with 30 years in the field of healthcare, I do not want this person entering my profession with unknown criminal activity. If it's public knowledge and she is still hired, then fine, but not as things are.

I know her social security number, real name, etc. I know all of these details about her because she told me them. In addition, I mistakenly helped her get into college because I didn't know she was an active criminals and plans to continue being one.

How can I make sure that her record is tied to her real name and information?

I think it's imperative.

Thanks!

What you believe to be the truth might simply be lies she concocted to impress you, or set you up to falsely accuse her.

If you believe she's a bad person, a thief, a fraudster, a trickster, a shyster, a scammer; you'd do yourself a service to avoid her.

You're not the FBI, police, or law enforcement.

I suggest you say nothing as what she's doing could embroil you in a bigger mess.

Could you please just answer the question?

I know literally everything about this person. I have worked in criminal psychology for years and years, like 30 years.

She didn't "tell" me all of the info I gave, I verified and know it.

I assisted this person to get into a rehab, got prior charges dropped in one case, and helped her get into college. That was because I was naive about her case, history, and true personality.

She has the classic sociopathic behaviors of being charming, but only as an act. Now that I have helped her get into school, I have created a monster, and she bragged to me about it. She wanted to complete her degree because nursing is easy and pays a lot.

She will have access to patient records, drugs, etc.

Could you please just answer the question?

I could, but I CHOOSE not to answer questions when people get pushy.

I paid for my law degree, and I get to choose if I wish to assist someone.

In your case, I choose to STIFLE, HUSH, QUIET myself.

Well geez, I didn't mean to be offensive. I fully apologize.

I just didnt want to write a long account of the situation. It's a long story and quite a twisted tale and very disappointing for me.

Again, I'm sorry.

But. I would like to know because you can bet this person will not be going straight once they get a healthcare job.

I work in Philly and so will she. In many jobs they just do an internet PA criminal background check, which I have done on her and there's nothing.

If you're going to work with kids, then it's FBI finger prints.

However, no matter what job she gets I believe employers have the right to know. I've been hired for important jobs right on the spot with no check of any kind, just on the strength of my resume.

I would greatly appreciate your help, as I'm sure others would too.

As you were told elsewhere, you are free to contact the licensing bureau. As you were also told, she can't hide from her fingerprints.

However, I too am a little put off by your obvious desperation to ensure that she cannot get a job. And if you have shared the actual name that she uses (both here and elsewhere) then you may well have set yourself up to be on the wrong end of a lawsuit.

The name she uses is public record. I can talk about any criminal case I like.

In PA, jobs do background checks via an internet site that doesn't require finger prints.

My interest in making sure employers know who they're hiring should be applauded.

I have help countless convicts get jobs, but honestly, and after they were reformed. It's bizarre that I should get "attitude" from anyone about the topic.

If she was your nurse or a loved one's and you found all of this out, I'm sure you'd think much differently.

I've done more background checks than you've had hot dinners. Not all background checks are created equal. In any state; for any industry.

You really think you can make the kind of accusations you're making on the public internet, and can't possibly be sued for it? Doesn't matter a hill of beans whether the name is public record or not.

I'm glad you have done more background checks than me, that's great.

Since there's basically only two kinds, your experience must be fascinating.

And, who is going to sue me, the alias, or the real person?

What will she sue me for, discussing that she has an undocumented criminal record, when she does? Will it be for noting the crimes she committed, or wanting justice to be done to employers?

You're being silly.

Also, you're intellectualizing the topic. I seriously doubt you would want this person around you, your personal belongings, money, or health.

Okay, you just go right on believing that you're completely safe from any legal issues. Whether she would win them or not is beside the point. It could still be troublesome for you.

What I would or would not like with regards to her is also legally beside the point.

That is not an answer and you know it.

It does not cover all employment. I will not know what she does by the time she finishes school, if she does.

McDonalds should know it they decide to hire her.

Interaction with you has not been productive.

How can I make sure that her record is tied to her real name and information?

You can't. The best you can do, as noted at least a few times, is inform the agency responsible for licensing, or perhaps the administration of the school she attends. The decisions are theirs to make and they may do so with or without the information you hold.
In presenting the information you do expose yourself to civil liability. If you are determined to do something you might meet with a local attorney who can help you to draft letters that limit your liability and protect you. Whether you are right or wrong about this person you can still be sued.

There is NO action you can take that will ensure that any and all employers are able to see her criminal record.

None.

And whether you believe it or not, you are playing a very dangerous (to you) game in trying to make it so.

If you're going to work with kids, then it's FBI finger prints.

It doesn't matter what name she wants to use. If she's fingerprinted her convictions will show up.

Besides, how do YOU have all of this inside information on this person. How do YOU know what name this person used every time this person was arrested???

Quite honestly, if someone were applying for a job with my company and you, as a complete stranger, came to me with all of this information that you say you have on the applicant, I would probably be more suspicious of you than her, because it sounds to me like you have a very personal ax to grind with her.

It was my hope to adjust the information on the official level.

What I mean there is that criminal records don't show up due to what I've said, so I assumed going to the criminal justice center records department would be the thing.

I don't know where background checks get their data for searches, but I assume it's got to be the records department.

That way, I'm not seeking out schools and workplaces but rather informing the source of an error.
