Am looking for any reccomendations for above. Am in NJ. Basically - Got married, separated 6 months later. It has now been almost 2 yrs since. No children no property no nothing. Should be easy I would think-uncontested.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

All you can do is try to do it by yourself.

What exactly did you want to know?

Do it yourself divorce

Nolo press has a great do it yourself book with a free helpline. The book costs about $30 but it is well worth it--easy to understand.

You might want to just go down to your family court and go to their self help/law library.

Also google uncontested divorce or no fault divorce for your state and see what comes up. Alot of courts have good information online on how to proceed.

When I did mine I simply went to the state judicial website and it had all the forms there to download. It also had instructions on what forms you need, how many copies, etc.

My advice tho, even if you agree on everything now, be sure you are very clear and specific on the info you put in your decree. My ex and I agreed on everything, now, one year later, we are having issues with the house.

You have to be clear on your 401k, bank accounts, credit cards, even how you will file taxes. You never know what may happen down the road.

Good luck :)
