I have been trying to figure out a way to gain info. on what exactly made up my moms'assets without having to ask my sister for documentation because I know it will cause a confrontation. I read up on Maryland Registry of Wills but I don't know if everyone is required to file or just if there is no administrator named previous to the passing of the decedent. My mom did have a will and my sister and I are the only beneficiaries. I was never privy to my moms' finances as was my sister. She never offered to show me any paperwork and I should have asked but I didn't. I have come to believe now that she doled out what she wanted to me and it is not half of even the one account that my mom made me hold a quarterly report. I have let this go because I know if I approach this incorrectly ,it will be a real mess. I was hoping to get some kind of records for proof before going to her without having to hire a lawyer. According to what I have read , there may be forms filed with the Registry that require you to show the decedents assets and inventory if you are the admin. of the will, which was my sister. Does anyone have any info. on this or is that done only when there is a problem?

Wills do not have to be registered anywhere. But if they are probated after a person's death, they will be on file with the probate court.
