I was convicted of burglary and theft, both felonies. I was sentenced to 5 years in position of sentence. if i get a pardon, with firearms restored, will I be banned by federal law? thanks in advance.

That question depends on if the Feds are inclined to honor state level pardons.

For the most part, that tends to be no, but yes is said for some.

You see, the FBI retains into perpetuity ALL arrest records, fingerprints, and mugshots.

There is no such federal repository concerning state level pardons, nor can a state judge order the Feds to delete arrest records received from the states.

thank you, I did have a misdemeanor domestic battery record from nevada sealed. it does not show up on rap sheet, I hope it is not on their data base still.

That's another gotcha.
Any domestic violence conviction is an automatic disqualifier, misdemeanor or felony.

Your record is sealed from certain prying eyes, but never federal eyes.

If I were you, I'd treat gun ownership like Superman treats kryptonite, or the way a convicted sexual offender is supposed to treat children.

You're a free person.
You can earn money.
You can live your life your way.

Is pursuing a gun worth losing all that and more?
