I started a job with a client about 2 weeks ago. The price is the job was $300 . I have refund his money within that time frame because he is not happy with our delivery time and demanded a full refund which I granted.

When he began this project we sent him an invoice that specifically stated the time frame that would be required for this job which was 5 weeks. He immediately paid the invoice and we got started and actually finished the design.

The terms on the invoice said that when the design was finalized it would be installed within 7 business days and he wanted it installed on the same day it was finalized which was not physically possible. So he demand a refund.

This all happened within a two and a half weeks time frame and since then he's been texting me non stop harassing me threatening lawsuits if I don't do hisjob for free.

My question is he got a full refund do I need to be worried? I am in New Jersey he is in California for him to see me what would be required for us to go to court ?

Oh and we never actually signed a contract the only thing that passed between us was the actual invoice

Change your number and ignore this idiot. You refunded his money, he's been made whole. To sue you in NJ, he'd have to travel to NJ. Beyond that, even if he lived in NJ, he has no case. Change your number, move on, ignore him. He won't sue you. He's just annoying you. Let it go, move on.
 
If you refunded his money, I don't see how he could win any type of case. He probably will not sue.
 
His last comment to me last night was

"You waste three weeks of my time and now that I'm going to give you a chance to make this right you don't want to. Ok I see i have no other choice butto file legal action "

My company will also be taking legal against you for non compliance.


He demanded a refund last week or he was going to sue me the 300$ wasn't a big deal to loose even tho the work was done I simply wanted him gone. Then 2 days later he apologizes and says he wants to work together again after he got a refund ...now he's sending these messages again

I think I would hold & see if they actually sue. If they do, then get yourself a lawyer. Someone else may come along & have some other suggestion(s) for you.
 
He has no grounds to sue. If he continues, you could use the same angle against him in regards to harassment. Not only that, you have proof.
