Hi,

So I'm alittle confused as to what the I-94 form is. What is the difference btwn the fiancee visa & this form? I read here that someone has one of these & is staying put in the USA to marry an American citizen & then is filing for adjustment of status...

I thought u HAD to be back in Canada in order to process this; ie: fiancee visa & if u got married (which can be in USA or Canada) u still had to come back to ur country & file the paperwork.

Very confusing! Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

You need two permits to come to the US and stay: one to enter and one to stay.

A visa is the entry permit, allowing you to enter the country.

The I-94 is the form you get at the border or airport allowing you to stay in the country.

You need both to show that you are legally in the country when you want to adjust status.
