I have a thread on here already titled "Retaliation from neigbors."
I have my court case set up for Oct. 14th. I have plead not guilty to the disorderly conduct charge for the claim of my yelling an obscene word out of a window of my house.
Since there is a past with these neigbors and the neigbors who are "witness'" I plan to prove prejuduice and bias on both victim and the witnesses. I think I have a good case to prove this, but am not sure if I am allowed since representing myself in the informal setting of a D.J's court if I can "cross examine the witness, or for that fact even the "victim." Do I have a right to prove my case by asking these witness' questions to prove my case?

If I understand correctly then you are being charged with a crime and face a criminal trial? Then yes, you do have a constitutional right to cross-examine witnesses and also bring your own witnesses. However, if you do not know how to do this and what to ask, I strongly suggest you hire an attorney and have him do that. Because, even if you have that right, you still must follow the rules of the court, the rules of evidence etc etc.

Late Update...

I couldn't sign into my old account and ran across this thread again, and wanted to give the outcome. I did represent myself because it was just a disorderly conduct charge for saying a "bad" word. It was said in my own home, but my windows were open and my neighbors (the ones I was having issues with) told a police officer of the bad word they heard me say (boohoo). I had charges pending against their tween sons. I believe this was just retaliation. I guess to seem impartial and due to supposed witnesses the officer charged me. In court even the Judge laughed off the charges. He questioned the "witnesses," looked at the officers and told them "Swearing is not a crime. It's not the nicest thing to hear. Could you imagine if we cited everyone for swearing? I would be sitting here all day going over cases just like this. We live in the United States of America, we have free speech. These kinds of cases were brought before the courts before and they usually are always dropped." He looked at me and told me my case was "Dismissed."

Perfect. Of course "swearing" isnt a crime. I have case law that tells us this from a person who was arrested for wearing a jacket that had "F--- the draft". Also, what my be offensive to some, is not to others.

If you were like most of the sheeple, you would have ran right in there and paid the fine. Good job for standing up for yourself and what is right. A lawyer would have dragged this one out for six months, cost you a couple thousand, and you would have still lost. Again, great job!

Have you considered filing civil claims against everyone? Abuse of process, filing a false report to police, stuff like that?

Ask yourself these questions: How many of our Men and Women have died to protect the rights we have?
Why is it not considered a crime in criminal court to take any right away of any individual that is deserved that right? Did these men and women die in vain to give us those rights? It seems so when I'd have to shell out thousands of dollars and spend a ridiculous amount of time in a Civil Court to protect a right people died to give me?
Then take into consideration during the first two centuries of this Nation's history much of our civil law was developed by judges. They, animating our jurisprudence were enshrined in state constitution provisions guaranteeing, in substance, that 'every wrong shall have a remedy.' Fashioning appropriate remedies for the violation of rules of law designed to protect a class of citizens was the routine business of judges.
Today however it has become tradition the interpretation of laws are based on protecting those who are placed above the law. The Courts have proven OVER AND OVER again that the basic rights set out in the Constitution were intended to be protected only when it is convenient to do so.
The judicial branch in our country broadly interprets the law to protect the most powerful rather than those powerless, voiceless individuals who truly need protection. Our federal government is slowly stripping individuals of their civil rights and hoping that the rest of us will overlook these egregious offenses.
Sorry unless we all stop being pawns in our own lives becoming "distracted" people this corrupt government grows in power. In my case I was just lucky enough to get a Judge who understood America's foundation and I am grateful enough just for that!
