Hello all!!!
Yesterday I received a traffic citation in the state of Minnesota. I currently hold an Ohio license. I am a resident of Idaho right now. Should I get an Idaho license? or will this ticket follow me here also?

-over the summer I received a ticket and filed for a continuance for dismissal, pending I don't receive another ticket within a year...its been about six months. both are for speeding

-I will not likely be visiting Ohio and Minnesota anytime soon.

what should I do?

What one should ALWAYS do is take care of any citation they received.

This is the 21st century.

Eventually, stuff catches up to you!

The states communicate all the time.

I suggest you do what you can to fix everything, that could be a traffic school class.

It most likely will cost you some money!!!!

This crap never goes away.

Now, that is not to say you'll get arrested for unpaid tickets in Montana, if you're stopped in Alabama, driving on an Ohio license.

That is to say, that Ohio will one day learn of your past.

And, your license will be administratively revoked!

The cop that stops you in Alabama runs your information and sees you're driving (unbeknownst to you) on a revoked license.

Off to slammer you go.

Now, a small matter has gotten a little larger.

You know what you did or did not do.

Don't waste my time and your reciting it, get busy fixing it.

Or, risk an arrest (or a denial to receive another license) at a very inconvenient time!

Like the judge said, get the ticket taken care of. Call an attorney in Minnesota (and check traffic atty. sites in Minnesota) to see what can be done. Then try and do it yourself. Some states will allow you to take traffic school, even in another state.

Also call the prosecutor and see if they will give you a deferred adjudication, which means you pay the fine but it stays off your record.

As far as your question, if you have a CDL, the ticket is suppose to show no matter where your license is from, but it doesn't always work that way.

If you don't have a CDL, it probably will NOT show on your Ohio license or your "future" Idaho license, but some states will show it.

If you get it "fixed" (as stated above) then it won't show in Ohio or Idaho, so get it fixed.

What state did you get the first ticket in, Minnesota?
