forced duties beyond job description

My wife was recently hired by a local car dealership for the position of title clerk, a position she has held at other dealerships. During the interview for this position, duties and responseabilites were discussed and agreeded upon. After the first week she has been forced to take on accounting duties, comptroller duties, receptiionist duties, etc... This of course leaves her with little time to complete the job she was hired for. The responseabilites far exceed the hourly wage she was hired in at as a title clerk. They were clearly deceptive about what the job entailed. What, if any, is her recourse?

She can ask for more money, but the answer should be obvious in a bad economy and an industry that is doing poorly.

Other than that, if she feels mistreated, she can resign.

Thank you Armyjudge for your reply. I had assumed there was little one could do about it except take it on the chin. No business or government entity seems to be held accountable for deception anymore.... just the little guy! Have a great and safe 4th!

Deception really? The employer has the right to assign additional duties as they see fit (every job description I have ever seen includes ("All other duties assigned")Get a grip and your wife should feel lucky she has a job right now.
