I'm so glad I waisted my time with this forum! It looks like to me there is not one real lawyer that even looks at this f!@#$@! thing!!! MY ADVICE.... DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where does it say you WILL get legal advice?

I know you're frustrated. In general you can't expect solid legal advice from an online discussion group. These are discussion forums. If people have time and information they may post helpful advice. Often it will be general because no one is familiar with every field of law in every state. Remember most of the people here are NOT lawyers, only the moderators are lawyers. While you may get useful tips and earn some basic principles about law here nothing here should be taken as gospel. If you need legal advice for a specific problem you need to contact a lawyer in your locale who knows the field of law you have a problem with. You can get a referrral from your state bar association. If you can't afford one you can contact legal aide in your state (again the bar association can porobably direct you).

I have spent the last month and a half trying to find a lawyer that I could afford, it's unbelievable. Legal aid and the state bar have given me a runaround that would make Saddam envious!
I can't afford a lawer for my situation and I make about 200 dollars too much for "legal aid". Not only am I getting taken by my ex-significant other but now will get raped by the system.

I responded to your post about the problem you are having with your S.O.

First, he does not legally own the property, so you should be researching landlord/tenant laws in your state and evict him. He is not on the deed, he does not own the property, so you need to throw him out. Serve him with an eviction notice, and if he does not move out, call the police.

You also have the right to move right on in. It is your house.

Or maybe, it's hard for lawyers to find good clients. People calling every single day, making ridiculous claims and trying to find ANY reason to sue and squeeze money out of someone. Half the time the juice isn't worth the squeeze. I know amazing family law attorneys who have clients that have racked up 75k in bills that they don't pay, yet they are still zealously represented. I have worn myself so thin working on a case on a CONTINGENCY FEE only to basically get fired on the courthouse steps before trial because the client was butthurt that I advised her not to do something that would hurt her case. $1.5 million dollar offer before trial, she hired a lawyer who had no clue what he was doing in her case, she ended up with 50k....

Don't be so quick to judge lawyers. A lot of us are on this forum trying to give the best answer we can. Just because we went to law school, doesn't make us an expert on every type of law in every state.
