passengers be held Liable for GENERAL Negligence? help?

Jon vs. Mike
I was 1 of 2 passengers with driver mike (vs. Mike) had no insurance mike was charged with DUI.
I have permanent damage
I now have $100,000 hospital bills..
so I saw a lawyer who said he was going to try and help
me recover something maybe from the other party (Jon) insurance, after all we did have the green
light and Jon made a left in front of us so Mike t-boned Jon. everyone was hurt except the driver Mike.
We all have well over $100 000 in damages...
after a few months lawyer says I don't think I cud help you .. and now
Now I HAVE a cause Of Action I the passenger, now being sued along with mike
for GENERAL Negligence?
I know I need a lawyer,... if I let it default I will be liable and have to pay Possibly half a million.
does anyone know of any recourses for payment plan or some kind of help .. I've checked all the
local free legal resources calling and consulting and all I got was sorry we don't deal with personal injury..
so I must get a Private lawyer but just don't have that kind of money right now? can I possibly try to recover
sum money to pay for defense for this cause of action?
so now I'm here asking for any payment alternative.. I'm am still
able to physically work to a certain degree, I'm still recovering going to a lot of free county medical help

Ok, I'm totally confused. You were the passenger in a vehicle being driven by Mike who was driving under the influence? Did Mike own the vehicle, or was it YOUR vehicle that you allowed Mike to drive with knowledge that he was under the influence?

Was Jon listed at fault in the traffic collision report? What was Mike's speed? Could be some comparative negligence. I need way more info on your story in order to answer your question.
