    Thank you for responding to my posting. Can petty theft misd. from 28 years ago prevent one from immigrating to U.S.? I guess my question is a legal one. Can U.S. consulate legally say NO to one with this kind of record? If there are no other reasons beside that. Warm Regards

    Thanks for advice. I consulted with an attorney. He says that since this is a petty theft, misd. then she shouldn't worry about it and should proceed. Do we/Can we do anything else? Many Thanks
