Is there a legal form for this situation?

Thank you all for your help. This is quite an awesome site! Yes, Army Judge, I do think we are "of an age!" While I support hubby's autonomy, I do acknowledge that one of us often has more common sense than the other. LOL:rolleyes: Congrats in advance to Army Judge on your 50th wedding...

Is there a legal form for this situation?

Well, drat and darn it all, Army Judge. I/we sure don't want to get a divorce! Maybe a post nup would cover this which would be weird after 36 years of marriage o_O or, one of my friends (school teacher) suggested a Reconciliation Agreement (I've never heard of that!). Thanks for your input!!!

Is there a legal form for this situation?

Hello! My husband is retired and in his late 60s --we've been married 36 years. :) Recently, his once-or-twice-a-year interest areas have had an increased frequency--going to the horse races, to casinos, and to Laughlin and Las Vegas with his pals. Legal name not on my Driver's License

Thanks, AdjusterJack for your input. I think I'll try to get a passport first in my legal name, and then take that plus my recent tax returns (my legal name, married filing jointly) and my SS card and see what's what at the DMV.

Legal name not on my Driver's License

Thank you, Army Judge...that's hilarious! I tried to get my husband to take my last name but that was a no-go, and he wasn't interested in a hyphenated name either-- my guess is that hyphenation would be too many letters for him to spell out all the time!:) Enjoy your weekend!

Legal name not on my Driver's License

P.S. My legal (maiden) name is also on all of our tax returns and is not hyphenated or combined with my husbands.

Legal name not on my Driver's License

Thank you for your quick reply. My legal name, which is my maiden name, IS on my Social Security card--that was never changed nor was it hyphenated or "smoothed" together without a hyphen. My legal name is also on my teaching credentials as well as my insurance policies and medical records...

Legal name not on my Driver's License

Decades ago when I married (still married to the same man) I kept my legal name, but since I was also driving my husband's car, registered in his name only, I decided to hyphenate my last name on my California Driver's license -- in case I was pulled over for anything, the name on the...
