    Claiming child tax credit.

    Until the court order changes, Dad still gets to claim the child. If Mom has had the child for a year without Dad even visiting, Mom should have the custody order changed...he's abandoned following it, so that's grounds for a new order, especially after 6 months.

    Agreed...obey the order. If you don't get a hearing before he comes, then you need to let him pick up your son. It's unfortunate he's absentee for 4 months, but you can't alter your possession order because of it...you have to do it in court. He needs to get his act together and stay involved...

    I have a modified SPO as the NCP (Texas) that the mother and I agreed upon. In addition to 1st 3rd 5th weekends, and instead of every Thu 6pm-8pm, I get every Tue overnight and every other Thu overnight. This order was entered in April 2010. My son is almost 3 years old and goes to a daycare...
