I live in Missouri and was wondering if can be convicted of fleeing on foot if you are not charged with an additional crime?

I was employed at major communication corporation, on the 6 of July, 2011 I was terminated for the exact infraction a Co-worker was written up for one day later. Is this legal? If not, what are my options... Ive spoken to a lawyer, who informed me unless someone outright called me a racial slur...
