    What do disbarred attorneys do?

Law Schools all over the country are getting sued by students who claim their school misrepresented post-graduation employment data/career prospects : e.g. http://www.google.com/search?q=law+school+lawsuit See student comments at...

    What do disbarred attorneys do?

Typically, this would signal the end of a career in law, and may be the ultimate fear of most attorneys. So, if an attorney gets disbarred for some reason, what do they typically do for a living? I guess it isn't something they'd want listed on their resume, but do they run for office, teach...

    Collecting on a judgment

If the judgment is large, it may be possible to consign the judgment to a collection agency, instead if paying them to try and collect. They may request 50% or more of any amount they collect. Be sure to set a time limit (they may not agree to this) before the consignment expires. Maybe 2 years...

    HIPPA violation????

Interesting... While working on the software systems, we were told anything that could individually/personally identify a patient (even if medical history is absent), like enrollment info, was covered under HIPAA.

    HIPPA violation????

My $0.02: A HIPAA violation does not necessarily have to include medical records; it could be any personally identifiable info (SSN, address, ID/phone number, ...). It does not have to be the OP's info; I could file a violation against a medical office for violating the HIPAA laws, without any...

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Witness to accidental shoplifting. What would you do?

In some circles, that would be considered apathy (and I figured most of us would have reacted that way too). But doing anything here (especially by a guy) might have resulted in unexpected consequences.

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Witness to accidental shoplifting. What would you do?

I shook my head disapprovingly at the kid and walked away. I think the kid realized he did something he shouldn't have.

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Witness to accidental shoplifting. What would you do?

I recall seeing a little kid (4 or 5-year old?) taking something small off a shelf and putting it into his mother's partially open purse that was in their shopping cart. Mom was not a witness to this. What would you do?

Research your family court judge first!

Might be a good idea to do a little background check on the family court judge before appearing before him/her. I found this site that covers some judges in California, and reveals some very interesting information you won't find on their resumes: http://www.familylawcourts.com/ "... explains...

Do family court judges read the entire motion(s)?

I was looking through a court transcript, and saw that an attorney had to remind the judge that the house/home was actually titled in the husband's name, and was purchased when he was single (i.e. separate property); it was not jointly purchased, as most marital homes are. This was clearly...

    HIPPA violation????

OP could file a complaint if he/she has reason to believe there was a HIPAA violation: http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/complaints/index.html

Medical Malpractice Doctors lack of attention or care in the office

Can there be "tortious interference with his business, or libel", if names are not mentioned in this forum?

    Request user input!

Could we enable message editing for a little longer than the current time-limit? I have a URL I wanted to add to my posting from this morning, and the Edit option is gone in Tapatalk.

Adopting foreign children gives us a bad reputation

The recent death of a 3-year old adopted Russian boy in Texas was ruled accidental. Death was due to blunt force abdominal injury resulting in a ruptured mesentric artery?? Hmm... See reviewers' comments here, one which read: "... what kind of "accident"? (accidental kick with a cowboy boot?)"...
