Would they seek the cival demand rather than a conviction or trial? or is this just an additional way for them to get money ontop of what the court may order in the way of a sentance?

isn't this something the retailer would have gone after before the arrest? (at least that is what I have read) How would it come into play at this point?

Okay, some of you may have read my previous post, for those who haven't heres the scoop. I was arrested for shoplifting (Completely innocent) Any how My biggest concern was a bench warrent that I have in MI, I have been told by my lawyer and many of you that that's a non-issue (Whew) of course...

Thanks Armyjudge Thank you so much for your help and reassurance. The MI thing was a result of being involved with the wrong person (My Ex Hubby) and I had done everything in my power to put it behind me. The thing here in TN was completly wrong....I should not have been arrested...

Update So...met with my attorney for the first time yesterday, he says that he still does not think the MI thing will be an issue. He also said he is 99.9% sure that there will be no jail time involved. However he also said that the police may not have my criminal background check back yet...

When you are arrested....and the police finger print you, do they immediatly get a list of all priors or can it take days for them to get this info? I am getting conflicting stories, I was never convicted but may have an outstanding bench warrent in Mi that is 15 years old. Attorney says...
