I don't think it's fair to be fired for eating it. They were going to be thrown away anyway, so why waste them? In my neck of the woods, workers are allowed to do that so nothing gets wasted.
I'm sixteen years old and I have been diagnosed with kleptomania. I honestly don't think there is something wrong with me. My mom keeps saying, "It's not your fault, you're sick, you can't help it, we'll get through this together." But I don't see what the big deal is. It's not like I shoplift...
