It would be nice if I can say this. And since the witnesses couldn't have seen the two vehicles colliding from where they were maybe there wasn't a collision at all and the other driver was just going too fast so she lost control.

According to what the other driver said in the police report, she never saw the vehicle I was driving because I had come up to hit her car from behind. "P2 never saw the car that hit V2 from behind." I think she said this because she did not want to admit passing me a long way past the merging...

How many degrees at the most would you say that my front left wheel could have been turned to the left and still made it possible for the other vehicle's rear right tire to leave these marks on the wheel ?

A speeding car passed me at about 70-75 mph and swiped the front left side of the van I was driving before going off the road and flipping a couple of times. The officer who came to inspect the van told me that the almost uniform marks on my front left wheel left by the other vehicle's rear...

Thanks. The black and white DO NOT PASS sign was placed under the black and yellow merging sign. I did not say which driver I was because I wanted fair answers and some people tend to be biased either for or against the OP.

So the usual rule which says that the merging vehicle must yield doesn't apply at all in this case and the DO NOT PASS sign also applies to vehicle L in the left lane even though it's only posted on the right side of the on-ramp :)

There is a DO NOT PASS sign located on the right side of a freeway on-ramp about 250 feet before the two lanes merge into one. If vehicle R in the right lane is ahead of vehicle L in the left lane when passing this sign, should vehicle R slow down to let vehicle L pass and then merge behind...

Thanks for all the responses. I've told her about this thread but she still thinks she has a case so I told her to come here and post more details if I missed something.

My neighbor bought a monitor from an electronics super store and found that it was defective after taking it home. She also found that there were two layers of packaging tapes on the box suggesting that it had been returned by another customer. Since she doesn’t drive she had to take a cab back...
