I am 19 from PA and I recently got caught shoplifting at a department store with merchandises totaling around $130. I had to sign 2 forms from the LP guy and a cop showed up and arrested me. He drove me down to the station. I was not put in jail but I had to get fingerprinted and my photo taken. He gave me a yellow citation and told me to go this one address for court purposes and when I went there the next morning, they told me they didn't have me in the system.
I'm confused, I was told I needed to go here to declare my plea and I wanted to ask for a public defender but I wasn't able to enter when I went there because the woman in the front desk didn't know of my case. What will happen?
Also, I wanted a public defender to talk about some diversion program called ARD. I just finished my freshman year in college and planned on transferring to an out of state college for sophomore year. Will I be able to move out of state for college while on the ARD program?
