Rescind car purchase

My husband made a deal to buy a car from an individual. Within 24 hours my husband tried to cancel the deal. Although he had handed the money over and received the title, he has not remove the vehicle from the owner's home. Now the owner is not willing to give the money back. What are my options?

He received the title and the notice of lien - lien release form.

Has the title been signed over to your husband?

Did he get a proper receipt for the money?

Generally, it's not a good idea to buy a car from someone you don't know well.

He can't rescind his decision.

He can sue the other party in small claims court if the transaction was fraudulent.
That MIGHT mean the title is a salvage title, the title isn't in proper order, or some other odd quirk.

Your husband owns the car. There is no right of rescission. It's a done deal. Go get the car.

PS: I wouldn't give you back the money either.
