New job

Can I get a new job while on workers comp? Will they still pay for my treatment?

Just in case you lost or misplaced the information given to you when you entered into WC, you can begin your review, to confirm what you know:

From the NY Daily News
Cheating is so common in workers' compensation cases that there's a term for it -- malingering -- as well as fraud divisions to seek and destroy it. "Malingerers get caught because insurers and employers make home visits, do surveillance and see if other companies are contributing to your Social Security account. It may take awhile, but chances are pretty good you'll get caught, and if you do get caught, it can mean jail time.

Mom5boys, yes, there are a number of circumstances in which you can legally get a new job while on workers comp. We would need more details of the old job, the new job and what stage your workers comp claim is in before we could say for certain, but it is by no means certain that getting a new job would be considered fraudulent.

Agree. Sometimes a person can no longer do the job they were doing but can do a different type of work for example & WC payments don't always automatically stop. However, as noted, we need more details to give you a better answer.

Switching jobs while having an open claim is allowed. Payment for medical treatment is not contingent on remaining employed with the same employer. You won't be eligible for TTD of course, but you aren't asking for that.
