Hi. We are trying to determine if small claims court is our next step when dealing with an issue regarding a refund from Expedia. To summarize, we changed our trip date, so we canceled and rescheduled. We had trip insurance and were told we would be refunded to our original form of payment. This was in April. We have not received the refunds yet, and when we called them, (multiple times after hours on hold), we have been told that the refunds have already been paid out and returned to us. They sent us to Chase, and gave us receipts and transaction numbers to prove when the refunds were made. Chase confirmed that they funds never made it to the account, and they can not track anything from their end. We have gone back to Expedia since, and they say they can not do anything since the transaction has cleared from their side. So....they gave our money to someone, but it was not us....
We are not sure if we can file a claim against Expedia, or what to do, but we have exhausted the avenues we know of. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Small claims court is the last place most people go seeking to solve money related issues.

Some people contact their bank, or credit card issuer to see if any additional help could be forthcoming - AKA - REFUND REQUEST.

In many cases buying airline tickets from online travel sites and seeking a refund after cancellation won't ever paid.

I suggest you read Expedia's policy on refunds:
