Bought an Extra Mini Mirror. Legal in CA?

Hello, I bought this mini interior car mirror partly for it's novelty as a fan of Japanese cartoons (anime) but I would be even more happy if I could legally use it. I live just south of San Francisco and I've been fined before for using products that I bought at local auto stores such as a clear covering for my license plate. My car is a Scion iQ (tiny like a Smart ForTwo).

This product comes with a suction cup to stick onto the inside of the windshield. Is it legal in California to install this little mirror on the inside of my windshield? If not, could I legal mount it on my dashboard? If legal, where on the windshield am I permitted to attach it? Does the graphic element on the mirror illegally obstruct vision?

While I'm at it, would it be legal in California to use this product as well? It's a clip-on wide mirror for the rear view mirror. I'm not sure if the graphic is on the mirror-side or front-facing side of the product:

Thanks in advance.

That statute specifically doesn't apply to rear view mirrors so I don't see any reason why you can't affix that mirror to the existing rear view mirror or replace the existing rear view mirror with that one if that's possible.

It's one thing to be 69 and have a 500+ hp beast at your disposal. A completely different thing to suction cup some cheap anime mirror to your dash as if you're a 12 year old school girl ;-)

Only 415 hp, sadly, but I'm looking for an upgrade. ;)

My 59 T-Bird has a pair of big fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror.

Nothing wrong with making your car fun to drive as long is it's not illegal or dangerous. The mirror is legal.

Get a hood scoop and a spoiler for your car, d1amund, and have some fun. :D

Fortunately my RS5 came with a speed activated spoiler that goes up at about 80mph. UNfortunately that's another indication I may be up to no good [emoji3]
Add that to the valved exhaust and it's hard to remain discrete; you get where I'm coming from it seems [emoji106]

I think if I put a hood scoop on that I would get egg'd by other Audi enthusiasts lol

Cool, though.

Absolutely.

Then go with the stripes instead of the scoop:

I've thought about it. Had some stripes on a VW Corrado and GTi years ago. I think if I steer clear of this style I'll be ok. I can't believe someone did this...evidently in China.
