back taxes owed on timeshare property

Jurisdiction/Place:

I have a question regarding my timeshare property in Lake arrowhead Calif. We owe about 3 years of back property taxes. This is because even after calling to make sure the city of san bernadino had our correct address. they still did not send property tax bills to us. Now they want to have a public auction on July 1 of 2006. I have been trying with no luck to get rid of this timeshare which is a real burden. How bad will our credit be affected by letting the tax collector go ahead with the public auction of the timeshare. We now have excellent credit. Please reply asap. Today is 6/27/06 and the sale is 7/01/06!!!! Thanks Rita
