I'm an unwed single mom with a 7 year old daughter. I am planning to move out of New York City soon, and will be taking my child with me. My daughter has always lived with me. Her father and I have not lived together. He will visit her once a week for a couple of hours. Since she was about 4 be would take her on a Sunday morning and return her to me on Monday evening. This was agreed upon between both of us because those are the two days that he is off from his job. My daughter is going to be7 in October this year. As I am and have been the custodial parent from birth, would I have any issues legally when I move out of state with my daughter?

If there are no current custody/visitation agreements in place, then you may move. Keep in mind that the father can always petition the court to preserve visitation. It would be in your best interest to work out an arrangement with him ahead of time.
