Hi my fiancee Alex is trying to have contact with his daughter but legal aid has been refused because Alex has mental health which 'appear' to have prevented him from seeking contact previously. No medical evidence has been provided to show that these problems have now stabilised and would not prevent a court ordering contact. Its not clear what level and type of contact is sought and no copies of correspondence have been provided to show that all attempts to negative through agents have been 'exhausted'

Can there be anything that can be done that Alex gets contact with his daughter?

You might want to encourage Alex to fully address his mental health issues before embarking on a court battle.

Most people discourage those with severe mental illnesses from being in the presence of children.
Children are quite impressionable and easily get their psyches damaged.

If Alex must pursue this, he needs a solicitor.
This is a US board and we know very little a out UK laws.
