California law question:
A friend has recommended that my wife and get all our bills and accounts in the form "[my name] Or [wife's name]" -- i.e., making sure the "or" is in there, like: "John Smith OR Mary Smith". The idea here is that if one of us dies (or disappears, etc.), the other will have no difficulties claiming/closing out accounts. Is this correct, or even doable?
Thanks.

I don't know why this would be advisable, but even if it were, CA is a community property state.

What you're worrying about doesn't matter much anyway.
