Our father passed away 22yrs ago, in the will he left the house in all his 5 daughters names. There has only been one sister living in the house since then. The homestead exemption was never changed from his name. Taxes were payed every year under our fathers name,by the sister living in the house. If my sister were to file homestead exeption under her name this year, would there be any penalties? Is there a way to calculate how much more we would owe, if anything?
