My ex-husband and I share joint legal and physical custody of our 12 year old son. If my ex signs our son up for extra-curricular activities without first getting my consent to do so, am I under legal obligation to pay for half of the expenses associated with said activity?

Thank you.

My ex is in a far better place financially than I am.

The court order states that extra-curricular activities are to be discussed and agreed upon before entering into a commitment. Those that are agreed upon, the cost is to be split accordingly. He has put him in things before so that he didn't have to obtain child care on his time, and so that I would have to pay half of the fees. Curious as to how the courts would view this?

Frankly if Dad is signing kiddo up for extra stuff that you haven't agreed on, Dad should be footing the bill - period.

However I'm curious - what do your orders say about childcare costs?

they will not be happy with dad is how the judge will look at it.and he could end up footing the bill for ALL the activities
