Hi I worked at a retirement firm and as a rep I call people to get appointments. Due to pressure at work I faked appointed so staff would not get mad. I didnt think much of it when i did it. Eventually I quit but now my employer found out and threatened to sue and put it on my record. I got scared and confessed I did fake but I meant no harm. After apologies they decided to have me pay them the money they would have made off the appts. Thats thousands of dollars they expect me to pay. Are they allowed to do that? Any advice on what I should do?

Ignore them unless/until they actually file suit; then get a good employment law attorney, who can probably get the case thrown out before it even gets before a judge.
