My husband has had a worker's comp. lawyer for about a year now. The lawyer has told my husband to meet with his HR regarding figuring out his future employment with the company. The hearing is set for this Wed (3/24), and he spoke with paralegal regarding the status of the settlement. The paralegal told my husband to find a doctor who would fill out HR paperwork so that he could return to the company. However, he wants a doctor to write something different than the QME's report. To my understanding, it is illegal for the paralegal to be advising my husband and the lawyer should be going with my husband to meet with the HR reps from his job. Should we get another lawyer at this point since MSC meething is this Wednesday???

The paralegal is working under the lawyer.
The lawyer has instructed the paralegal as to what you should do.
But, if you doubt that, why not visit the lawyer personally?
The lawyer is required to meet with you.
But, it might be better to do as instructed and see what happens?
It seems your case is headed to a resolution beneficial to you.
Why not play the hand you've been dealt?

Even if the client gives permission, the lawyer is not REQUIRED to talk to anyone but the client.

Of course the lawyer is only required to speak with client.

My suggestion to speak with the lawyer was for her husband, not her.

I'm sure she will be present as she appears to be very involved in the matter.
