My son works at my restaurant in downtown Carbondale, illinois, and we serve alcohol as well as have a bar. Now, I know the general age for serving alcohol is 18+, but I recently heard that if you're family of the owner or have some relation the age doesn't matter? can i have some clarification? Thanks.

In many states its 21. I never heard of servers under 18 in any state. Check with the regulating agency LCB, ABC, or what ever the call it in Illinois.
