I have been sued by a third party that bought my credit card account. A court date has been set. If I don't show up, what happens? If I do show up, and the judge sides with the third party, can they garnish my bank account or my wages. I am not refusing to pay what I owe, it is just that I cannot at this time. Thanks.

If you don't show up to the court hearing, you lose the case. The other side wins the judgement.

Whether wages can be garnished depends on the state that you work in (some states do not allow wage garnishment).
