Can I refuse to sign divorce papers?

I filed for divorce (irreconcilable differences, no kids, no abuse or adultery) from my wife six months ago, and she left the house at that time and has been residing elsewhere since then. She has an attorney and I can't afford one. After months of inaction on both our parts, she is now ready to go to court. To avoid bankruptcy or even homelessness (she's loaded -- six figures in stocks, in an individual account that she's had since before we were married -- and I'm broke and in debt), I'm thinking about withdrawing my petition for divorce and waiting for her to file for divorce from me if she wants; then I would simply refuse to sign the papers and remain married "on paper." Can I do this? or can she force me to help her end our marriage? (Please, no moralizing -- this is the short version.)
