My jurisdiction is: Arkansas

Recently, our high school principal announced to students that there was to be no singing "victory songs" (nah nah nah nah, goooodbye) at the end of basketball games, no raising up of and dangling keys in the air (symbolic of go start the bus) cannot say "beat" and the other team's name or mascot, and told the students that the opposing team and visitors were our honored guests and were to be made to feel WELCOME. Does the total control minded public school administration have the legal right to squelch what most would consider to be "school spirit". We are a small-town school, no police with metal detectors at our entrance doors. After our last game, administrators actually rushed out onto the court and stood with their arms crossed across their chests in an authoritative stance as if our attending students were going to rush out onto the court. There was no one on the court but them. What rights do the kids have? Is there such a thing as being too loud when cheering their team on? There was no cursing and no threats made toward anyone.
