I am a native born United States citizen living in the United States. I have a friend who is a teacher. She is a Filipina but currently lives and works in China.
She wishes to initially visit and then to move here.

Here is the problem.

ONE - I can't get her on the "Fiancee" application because she is still legally married (seperated for a considerable time but still legally tied).

TWO - Would the best way for her to get a temporary work VISA (if this can even be done), be to apply to a local establishment and get hired? If so, could the job be considered part time (for example locally, there is a demand for ESL teachers... however, they are usually not considered full time). If this is a problem, is there a way that I can show that I would "sponsor/support" her so that she would not be without adequate financial support?

Sorry... a lot of questions, but I've read the immigration laws and am afraid that I'm just not very clear on some of them. Thank you in advance for your help.

Ken
