There is no statute of limitations on speeding tickets in Texas or any other state. When you fail to appear you are found guilty of the speeding ticket. Then a failure to appear charge is added which is a criminal offense where traffic tickets are only infractions in most states. That and failure to pay the fine is why the arrest warrant was issued.

No. Warrants are good forever. Once the warrant is issued and you have failed to pay the ticket your driver's license is suspended. If you are stopped while driving that will be an additional charge of DWS with additional fines and a trip to the local jail.

You have to contact the original court and pay all of the fines. They will give you a letter which you can then take to the DMV to have your license reinstated. Your license is not automatically reinstated when you pay the fines.

Art. 12.02. [181] [229] [219] MISDEMEANORS. An indictment or information for any misdemeanor may be presented within two years from the date of the commission of the offense, and not afterward.

If you are stopped and arrested write me for criminal complaint actions as well as tort forms if no criminal charges are filed against you by the arresting officer. We've got criminals dressed as policemen all over Texas, the US for that matter that think they arte the law and have taken to stealing directly from drivers that happen to be unlucky enough to drive through their town. When a peace officer in the state of Texas writes out a ticket and gets the operator to sign it, he (or she) has fulfilled the above requirement. The offender is summoned to appear in court to answer the charge.

You are correct. The instant the ticket is filed, the SOL stops running.
