How long does it typically take to get a toxicology report back. They are checking prescription drugs. It's been 8 weeks and probation says gbi is going to take an additional 4 weeks. Is there a law as to the time frame for getting a report back while person is in jail waiting?

Nope. No time frame for the report.

Your state (I presume Georgia) must have a time frame within which they have to arraign him, so that is what his attorney can focus on if he has not yet been arraigned. However, if he HAS been arraigned, then they can hold him until the preliminary hearing (or whatever they call it there) or next proceeding, or until he makes bail. If they have to delay the hearing beyond what is allowed by statute they may have to release him, but I cannot say what that is for your state. He needs to check with his attorney.
