Can an employer write someone up for being in a car wreck??? The person called in to let them know that if she would come in, she would be late. They still wrote her up.

With very rare exceptions that do not appear to apply here, there are no laws addressing what an employee can or cannot be written up for.

Was she injured in the accident? Did she miss any work days for it, or was she just late? There's a specific reason I'm asking.

Union shop yes but can be overturned. Non-Union shop yes.

Then any recourse she has is going to be through her union. The law does not prohibit them for writing her up for being two hours late, even for this reason and even though she called in.

Note that I am not saying I approve of them writing her up - I am saying that doing so is not against the law.
