I have a last will and testament that was filed with my attorney in Ontario, Canada. I now live in the US and want to make sure my will is valid in both countries.

The Canadian will is valid. However, it will be probated in accordance with the laws where you now reside. It is in your best interest to have a local attorney review it.

We are also in a similar situation, my father (a U.S. citizen) had a Will drawn up and signed by two family friends as witnesses here in Canada. It was not written by a lawyer, but is just basic and leaves his estate to his two children. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's prior to the Will. We felt he was lucid while he signed it though, same with a Power of Attorney. Does any of this make it any easier/harder to contest? We believe his wife (in the U.S., he remarried 10 years ago) will not agree with it.
