help please

on 6/23/07 my wife fell out of the back of a semi trailer (thats about 4 ') and landed on her tailbone . in the begining she had someone that went with her but her boss decided she was to do it on her own . she was not supplied with a ladder or any other device to get into the trailer she just had to climb in snd out. it took approx. a half hr or more before someone found her lying on the ground (not a company employee) 911 was called and they took her to the hospital. she was "examined" and told by the "doctor" she should stay off work at least a week . she came home late that night the next morning the co. called and told her she had to see thier "doctor" that afternoon the doc. told her she had a lumbar sprain and to go back to work and start therapy.finaly they decided to get an mri it showed that had or has a compressed spinal fracture 3 bulging discs and one torn disc also her bladder has fallen . she is still in alot of pain the work comp dr. refuses to give her any type of pain meds and told us that the pain she has now was not caused by the fall he also said we should have her checked for cancer, bone density,have her blood work done and a few other tests done all on our dime because the pain is not where it should be if it were caused by the fall. oh she has also lost 24% of her hiegth. we finaly got a letter from work comp. stating that she is 2% disabled and would pay us accordingly. so we hired a lawyer on 4/16/08 he sent out a statment saying he is representing her . then a few weeks later we recived another letter stating that he had been in contact with the co. lawyers and they agreed to getting a specialist and we would know something in 2 weeks. after three weeks i called our lawyer and asked if he heard anything my wifes still in pain he said oh has it been 2 weeks i said no its been 3 so i was informed that her should check into that now i'm being told that there is a new judge and that we need to get a newer mri but because this is supposed to be in litigation no one will order one for us . so now what do i do ? i feel the co. should be sued for its neglence the work comp. dr. should be delt with (a good old fashioned hanging comes to mind):yes: and if our lawyer keeps draging his feet can i fire him and find a better one ? . thank you , jim neville
